SCHEDULE

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19

Delegates are to bring in their country data and laptops to class.  They will then research information on their country, as well as the other countries for the simulation.  Delegates must also establish criteria for which they will argue their position, and establish a hierarchy of their country’s needs according to the issues presented.  All delegates will research and collect information for the purpose of writing a position paper.  This paper will consist of a complete paragraph on each of the issues presented for consideration by the Conference, and will represent the delegate’s best interpretation of the stand, which the assigned country would have taken in the same historical circumstance.

MONDAY, JANUARY 22

Delegates are to bring in their country data and laptops to class.  They will finalize their research for their country assignments.  Delegates will discuss with each other the main issues their country must address, and finish their position papers as well as their proposed resolutions.

WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY, JANUARY 24-26

The Model Berlin Conference will be called to order by the Secretary-General. All delegates will bring their position papers and resolutions with them (at least two copies - one for the teacher, and one for the delegation).  Debate will begin on the resolution of the historical issues at hand.  All debate will be governed by Robert’s Rules of Order.  All delegates are expected to be polite, considerate, and remember that the goal of this meeting is to resolve disputes that threaten world peace, and to have FUN!
